Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)

ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection) is an advanced fertility treatment used primarily in cases of male infertility. It is a specialized form of IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) where a single healthy sperm is injected directly into an egg in a laboratory.

At Ashalatha IVF Centre, ICSI is performed using advanced Micromanipulators and  Techniques by experienced embryologists.

When is ICSI Recommended?

ICSI is commonly recommended in the following situations:

  • Low sperm count
  • Poor sperm motility
  • Abnormal sperm shape
  • Previous IVF fertilization failure
  • Blockage preventing sperm release
  • Sperm retrieved through surgical procedures such as TESA or TESE

The ICSI Procedure

  3. Collection of sperm sample from male partner.
  4. Injection of a single sperm into each egg using microscopic instruments.
  5. Fertilization and embryo development in the laboratory.
  6. Transfer of the embryo into the uterus of female partner.
